Become a fully accredited fitness instructor in just eight weeks while studying at Sidcup Leisure Centre and start your new career in Personal Training. The Level 3 Diploma is the highest entry-level qualification for Personal Trainers, combining the Level 2 In Fitness Instructing (Gym Based Exercise) and Level 3 Certificate In Fitness Instructing and Personal Training into one qualification. Meaning you can immediately start a new career as a personal trainer, either working in gyms or setting up your own business.

Classes will be held at Sidcup leisure centre, ideally located for areas in Kent and South East London, including Lewisham, Bromley, Dartford and Orpington. Course Description

CIMSPA Points – 20 

This personal trainer course combines both the Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing and The Level 3 Personal Training course into one diploma. It provides you with the essential skills and knowledge to become a recognised Personal Trainer. Taught over eight Saturdays at Sidcup Leisure Centre, you’ll be able to fit your studies around full time work or other commitments.

The diploma will increase your employability as a PT and allow you to gain a broader potential client base and enhance your professional development. Once qualified, you will be able to work on a self-employed basis, train clients in an environment of your choice, or become employed by a gym or fitness setting.

During this course, you will develop a deeper understanding of how to create advanced fitness plans and provide consultations, giving you the ability to utilise a full range of activities for your clients.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements start this course straight away, but a level of physical fitness is necessary and some experience of gym based exercise is recommended. However, working experience in the fitness industry is not mandatory.

You will not need to study the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing before you enrol on this course. No prior qualifications are necessary.

How You’re Assessed

You’ll be assessed by a learner achievement portfolio including:

  • worksheets
  • multiple choice tests
  • a programme card
  • detailed exercise plans
  • delivery of 2 exercise sessions with a client
  • self-evaluation of performance
  • a practical exam

How It Works

Assessment is in the form of a combination of both practical and theory-based tasks.

Theory-based components included anatomy and physiology and the application of nutrition. Programming plans for clients and setting smart goals will be assessed through coursework.

There will be a practical assessment for the delivery of a customised training plan under the supervision of a qualified instructor. Records and audio-visual recordings will be used as supporting evidence.
