Level 4 IQA qualification
Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is a theoretical qualification intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance without any requirement to practice, or who are looking to support the practice of their centres main IQA.
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) is a prerequisite to enrol on this course.

Level 4 IQA qualification
The objective of the Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice qualifications is to develop learners’ understanding of theory and practice relating to their quality assurance role in education. It will provide knowledge that underpins the ability to work as an effective quality assurance practitioner.
The units combine both theoretical and practical knowledge in the education profession and will develop and enhance knowledge and skills in the areas of effective performance, planning and accountability and development.
Successful completion of these qualifications will enable learners to gain an internal quality assurance role or to develop within that role. Learners will also be able to work in a variety of other roles within education administration and/or management.

The course is made up of two units.
Unit 1 is a theory only unit. This unit will provide you with the knowledge about quality assurance and the theory behind the role, as well as the responsibilities of an Internal Quality Assurer. This unit is completed by submitting assignments to our virtual learning environment.
Unit 2 is a practical unit. In this unit you will quality assure the work of two assessors, whilst they are assessing learners. This unit can be completed in your own working environment under the supervision of a qualified IQA. A copy of their certificate will be required to submit with your final portfolio.
This always depends on the amount of time that you have to allocate to study per week. On average it will take 1-3 months to complete the course. Completion time is also determined by how efficiently you can source your assessors and schedule in your practical assessments.
Focus Awards
Yes, the L4 AIQA is an Ofqual Regulated Qualification (RQF), fully recognised and accredited course.
This is a UK based qualification, however we have learners completing this course from many different countries. UK qualifications are sought-after internationally.
Certificate processing times can vary. We allow up to 3 weeks, however, certificates often arrive sooner than this. Future Step can provide a letter confirming completion in the meantime if required.
Yes, you will receive both a digital and hard copy of your certificate.
There is no official word count and the assignment is divided into 5 assignment questions. On average this will often amount to between 3000-3500 words.
Learners must be 19 years of age and have access to two assessors. You will then be required to quality assure the assessment decisions made on a total of four learners work samples (two per assessor). You must also be a qualified assessor and hold the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement qualification (L3 CAVA).
