You will complete two units as part of the certificate:
– CMI 501 Principles of Management and Leadership in an Organisational Context
– CMI 502 Principles of Developing, Managing and Leading Individuals and Teams to Achieve Success
For each unit, you will:
– Complete a written assignment based on your role or workplace scenarios
– Receive detailed feedback to support your development
– Have one resubmission opportunity if required
There are no exams. The focus is on applying your knowledge in practical management contexts.

Certificate processing times can vary. We allow up to 3 weeks, however, certificates often arrive sooner than this. Future Step can provide a letter confirming completion in the meantime if required.
Yes, you will receive both a digital and hard copy of your certificate.
The course contains a total of six units. At unit 5 you will complete a practical assessment in a fitness environment with a client of your choice. Units 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are theory units.
For this assessment you need to select a client and then deliver and record a 45–60-minute gym session with them in a fitness facility. This session is then sent to your tutor for assessment. The facility should be fully equipped with a range of equipment and you should discuss your chosen facility with your tutor prior to commencing the assessment. Your tutor will ensure you are fully prepared for the practical assessment prior to your delivering it.
Learners must be 19 years of age and have access to a fitness facility for the practical assessment. You don’t need to have any experience prior to enrolment although a good knowledge and history of fitness training is an advantage.
