Online L3 Diploma Practitioner in Personal Training

This new online personal trainer course replaces the original Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training.
The course combines both the Level 2 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Gym Based Exercise and the Level 3 Certificate in Planning and Delivering Personal Training into one diploma. It provides you with the essential skills and knowledge to become a recognised Personal Trainer. Delivered online, you’ll have the flexibility to fit your studies around life or work.
The diploma will increase your employability as a PT and allow you to gain a broader potential client base and enhance your professional development. Once qualified, you will be able to work on a self-employed basis, train clients in an environment of your choice, or become employed by a gym or fitness setting.
During this online course, you will develop a deeper understanding of how to create advanced fitness plans and provide consultations, giving you the ability to utilise a full range of activities for your clients.

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements start this course straight away, but a level of physical fitness is necessary and some experience of gym based exercise is recommended. However, working experience in the fitness industry is not mandatory.
You will not need to study the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or the Level 2 in Planning and Delivering Gym Based Exercise before you enrol on this course. No prior qualifications are necessary.
How You’re Assessed
You’ll be assessed by a learner achievement portfolio including:
- worksheets/assignments
- a programme card
- detailed exercise plans
- delivery of 2 exercise sessions with a client (practical exams)
- self-evaluation of performance
How It Works
Those studying the course online will need to have access to a gym and gym equipment to meet practical aspects of this course to achieve your diploma. You should be able to demonstrate competence working with a client on subjects such as nutrition, goal planning, exercise preparation/instruction & adaption.
The course includes two practical assessments. You will need to provide records and audio-visual evidence that will be submitted to and assessed by your tutor. To do this, you will need access to a gym or fitness setting. Alternatively, you can attend one of our live practical assessment days with your client, subject to availability and location.
All online gym instructor students are supported by a personal tutor, who are themselves expert fitness professionals. They will be available whenever you need them.
As a student on one of our online learning programmes, you will have unlimited course access and tutor support. Future Step Education does not place any deadlines on course completion.
