What is the Level 4 Certificate In Education And Training?
The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) is a requirement for anyone looking to work in a Teaching role in an associate position. This role carries less responsibility than that of a full teaching role.
The qualification is designed for individuals teaching in both the private training industry and in educational institutes.
It is a nationally recognised qualification which allows you to progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training, bringing you closer to being able to gain your QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills).
What does it involve?
The guided learning hours for this course are 140 – 204 hours. As the course assignments are all completed on-line, students may study completely at their own pace and will be required to have access to 30 hours of teaching practice whilst on the course. (If you have done any teaching in the past 3 months we may be able to take this into consideration.)
You will be observed for a total of 3 hours during your course. You can be observed by one of your colleagues as long as they are suitably qualified. A suitably qualified colleague would hold a PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent. If you require a qualified observer from The Big Teacher, there will be an additional cost.
Who’s it for?
Those who work, or want to work as teachers/trainers in the further education and skills sector. Learners who have just started a teaching/training role; teachers/trainers who are seeking career progression in their area of work those working with learners on a one-to-one basis; learners who teach in industry; learners who have already achieve some learning and development units that can be counted in this qualification and assessors who wish to achieve a teaching/training qualification.

On successful completion of this course, the learner will achieve a UK recognised, fully accredited qualification/certificate – Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CET) (RQF)
9 months from the enrolment date – We have had learner who have completed the course within 3-6 months.
